YURI BARBIERO

Founder of Clipics

Ciao! My name is Yuri and I am a London-based videographer and photographer from Venice, Italy. As a freelancer, I have worked for a large portfolio of clients, including a social media agency.

I am a highly creative person, and I have a writing background, with two award-winning published novels. At the same time, I have a passion for business and marketing, with a BSc in Business Management. These two sides of my personality, my creativity and my problem-solving, detail-oriented mindset, together with my experience in the industry, are behind the idea for Clipics.

SILVIA SCIVALES

Co-founder of Clipics

Ciao! My name is Silvia and I am a London-based Italian conference interpreter and translator from Venice, Italy. Apart from Italian and English, I can also speak Spanish and French.

I am a curious person, and I love all things creative, being a ballet dancer since I was 4. Thanks to my experience in luxury retail and interpreting project management, I have been assisting Yuri with communication, customer service and admin for the past few years. I also help him with photo editing on Adobe Photoshop. I am Yuri’s right-hand woman for Clipics.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Big Idea Challenge winners 2022, London Metropolitan University

TECH CATEGORY WINNERS

Big Idea Challenge 2022

At the beginning of 2022, we applied for the London Metropolitan University’s “Big Idea Challenge” with Clipics. This is an annual entrepreneurial competition that gives innovators the chance to pitch and develop their own business idea. The competition is organised by The Accelerator, London Met's business incubator.

Out of 200 applications, we were among the 40 semifinalists, and then among the final 18, the final 3 of the Tech category. The competition developed over months of mentoring, training and research, and a pitching+Q&A semifinal and final, with experienced entrepreneurs in the judging panel. Dragons’ Den style.

On 4th May 2022, at the Museum of London, we were awarded the winners of the Tech category! A surreal and incredibly rewarding experience, which fuelled our determination to make Clipics a reality.
